Comprehensive Vegan Guide to Miami/Ft Lauderdale

Comprehensive Vegan Guide to Miami/Ft Lauderdale

I get asked a few times a week to recommend my favorite places in Miami and there are so many fantastic places that have opened in the last few years along with the mainstay Miami spots that have pioneered the movement down here. I tried to include as much as I could, I only included non-vegan restaurants if I feel like they have enough delicious and satisfying options for vegans, or if their 1 vegan option kicks a lot of ass, not if they throw some veggies on a plate and call it “our vegan option.” Restaurant names in green are 100% vegan, and the ones with ♥️ are my absolute favorites. I also included my suggestions on where to stay, fun things to do, and public transportation info at the bottom! So here you go, please feel free to leave any questions/comments/concerns below.

Where to Stay

It definitely depends what you’re visiting Miami for, if you’re here to go to clubs & party South Beach or Downtown is your spot. If you’re here to enjoy the beaches, my personal favorite beach is the one at 96th street and Collins its quiet and beautiful and it has a long trail you can ride bikes or walk/run on. If you want a lively beach scene, stick to South Beach.

If you’re here to eat and hang in a more “local & artsy” part of town, I would stay in Wynwood/Midtown area. Wynwood can be a little sketchy so I personally would stay in Midtown. Its a great location, you can hop on the highway and get to the beach or eat delicious food all over Miami/Ft Lauderdale.

If you want to splurge, the 1 Hotel is my absolute favorite property here, its eco-friendly and stunning!!

Fun Things to Do

Hang at Wynwood Walls/walk around Wynwood for tons of photo ops in front of wall art

Walk around Perez Art Museum Miami

Rent Kayaks or SUP in Sunset Harbour or at Oleta State Park (Holi Vegan is near Oleta if you go there!)

Shop around Wynwood

Go Parasailing

Rent a boat and take it to the sandbar

Vizcaya Gardens

Party until the sun comes up at Space (if thats your jam)

E11even is a cabaret/high-end strip club/nightclub that is supposed to be fun

Day Trip the Everglades, do not do this June-September, it its muggy and hot and mosquitoey

Walk around Lincoln Road, its super touristy but its really fun people watching!

Public Transportation

The public transportation here is TERRIBLE. Unfortunately unless you’re going to be spending most of your time where you are staying, you need a car.
